COMMERCIAL Rangehoods

Custom Stainless Steel, Built and Installed Across Melbourne

NXT GEN Canopies designs, fabricates and installs commercial rangehoods for restaurants, cafes, pubs, hotels and institutional kitchens right across Melbourne and Victoria.

A commercial rangehood, known in the trade as a commercial exhaust canopy or commercial kitchen hood, extracts grease, heat, smoke and steam from your cookline and discharges it safely to AS1668.1 and AS1668.2.

Every rangehood is custom made to suit your bench layout, not pulled off a shelf, and built in 1.2mm fully welded 304 grade stainless steel.

What is a Commercial Rangehood?

A commercial rangehood is a stainless steel ventilation hood mounted directly above cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens and ranges. It captures heat, smoke, grease and odours generated during cooking and removes them from your kitchen, keeping your venue safe, compliant and comfortable. A commercial rangehood is the same product known in the trade as a commercial exhaust canopy or commercial kitchen hood.

The NXT GEN Commercial Rangehood Difference

Improved Air Quality and Employee Health

Proper ventilation reduces exposure to harmful fumes and improves overall air quality, leading to a healthier and more comfortable work environment for your staff.

Enhanced Safety and Fire Prevention

By capturing grease particles before they enter the ductwork system, commercial exhaust canopies significantly reduce the risk of grease fires, promoting a safer kitchen environment.

Increased Efficiency and Cost Savings

A well-ventilated kitchen facilitates optimal cooking conditions, improving food quality and consistency. Additionally, proper ventilation reduces wear and tear on kitchen equipment by preventing heat and grease buildup, potentially leading to cost savings in the long run.

AS1668.1 and AS1668.2 Compliance

Most municipalities have building codes that mandate the use of commercial exhaust canopies in commercial kitchens. These canopies play a vital role in maintaining proper ventilation and ensuring the safety of occupants.

Commercial Rangehood FAQs

How much does a commercial rangehood cost?

Every commercial rangehood is custom made, so the price depends on size, configuration and whether you need ductwork, fans, make-up air and installation. Send us your dimensions through the quote form and we will return a detailed quote.

Commercial rangehood vs exhaust canopy – what is the difference?

There is no difference. Commercial rangehood, commercial exhaust canopy and commercial kitchen hood are different names for the same stainless steel extraction hood mounted above your cookline.

Do I need make-up air?

Most commercial kitchens need make-up air to replace the air the rangehood exhausts, and your mechanical engineer or council will usually require it. We design and integrate make-up air as part of your system to meet AS1668.2.

What size commercial kitchen rangehood do I need?

As a guide, the rangehood should overhang your cooking equipment by about 150mm on each exposed side. Send us your cookline length and equipment list and we will size it correctly for capture and compliance.

How long does fabrication and installation take?

Typical fabrication is 2 days to 1 week depending on size, and most installations are completed within 1 to 3 days. We manage manufacture and installation under one roof to keep your project moving.
